D.I.Y. Sub-Irrigated Grow Beds

Today I want to share a few tips with you about growing your own food sources while conserving water by building your own DIY Sub-Irrigated grow beds. We all need to begin thinking about living more sustainable lifestyles both for ourselves as well as the generations to come. As we continue to grow as a country, water is one resource we all need to pay close attention to. This is especially true in areas where you have extreme heat and little rainfall. That’s what caught our eye with this design.

Build Your Own

As you know, here at Survive and Sustain we are constantly searching for great content that we feel is useful, informative, and beneficial to our readers. So whenever I come across something that meets that criteria I like to pass it along to our readers. The following video covers in detail how you can build your own self-watering raised grow beds. It’s simple and easy to follow and you can do this project with a few basic hand tools.

Al Gracian with Albopepper.com does a fantastic job in this video explaining his technique and the materials necessary to complete this easy project. My wife and I are in the process of adding several of these grow beds to our backyard food production areas.

I also wanted to include a link directly to Al’s Youtube because there is a lot of additional information on Sub-Irrigated grow beds under the description of his video that you will want to check out. Click Here For That.
